Not Ready for 2013

Happy New Year! Even though I am not ready for a new year. I am still catching up with last year. But... one of my resolutions is to blog more consistently in 2013.  Ha ha, it's already 6 days in and here is my first post of the new year, oh well, here it is.

I wanted to show you some of my Christmas decorations (it will probably take more than one post.) As you may be able to tell, one of my favorite colors is turquoise -- and it shows.

I don't have a fireplace or mantle, so I used a buffet in my dining room instead. Bertha (my dress form) is wearing some turquoise and pearls with a few rhinestone blings to add sparkle.

The frames stay up all year round and I change the decorations for the holiday. I purchased the fancy white carved wood frame a few years ago at the World's Longest Yardsale on Route 127. It was a great bargain and I would love to go back again.

I used vintage style balls on the tree and vintage jewelry on Bertha.

I used a vintage rhinestone pin as the tree topper.

The trees to the right were an after holiday clearance purchase. In a couple of years they will be bald because they lose a bunch of sparkles every time I bring them out.

Another pic of the sparkle trees.

I love bottle brush trees and villages.

A closer look at the silver glitter churches.

Out for a Winter Frolic!

Here is a big splash of bling. I raided my stash of rhinestone pins and earrings and used them to make these trees. A how-to post will come later.

Hope you enjoyed!
