See how this colorful forest of trees transforms...

...into these lovely Christmas trees...

...and these.  The trees are in vintage silver containers (sugar, creamers, cups, etc.) with some antique laces and topped off with a little bit of bling.

This snowman is in a vintage thread cone covered in vintage sewing pattern paper with a small tree and a couple of mini ornaments.

These are the 2016 version of my snowman ornament. Each year I make a different ornament for snowman collectors.

Hope to see you at one of the upcoming shows!

Another Craft Show

I will be displaying at the West Collingswood Fire Company Craft Show tomorrow, Saturday, December 12, 2015, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 152 Nicholson Road, just off of Route 168 in Mt. Ephraim, NJ. They will be selling refreshments and -- SANTA will be there around 12 noon.

Here are a few recent pics of my booth.

I love this snowman ornament...

And the antique bottle ornaments.

These are bottle brush trees in vintage containers -- silver/pewter sugar and creamers. Some of these are sold, but I will have lots more.

Come out and finish up your Christmas shopping, have lunch and tell Santa what's on your list this year!

Ladies Night Out at Decotique

This Friday (December 11, 2015) will be the 2nd Annual Holiday Ladies Night Out at Decotique, 13 Centre Street, Merchantville, NJ, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Kate Butler a/k/a/ Decotique is having 20-25% off most of her inventory in the shop. There is free street parking during the holiday season. There will also be a couple of handcrafted vendors (Me Me Me!!) We will also have refreshments for you while you do your shopping.

Here is a picture of my table at a recent craft show. I added beautiful pillows made from vintage linens. Since they are new I am glad they have been a big hit.

Here is a better photo of the pillows. Some of these are sold, but I do have more.

Here is another pillow picture with more designs, again, not all are available.

Here are more new holiday items, bottle brush trees in vintage sugar and creamers, decorated vintage bottles and a snowman on a vintage jello mold. It was fun playing with the vintage bits and pieces of lace and blingy jewelry to put these together.

Here is a better picture of Mr. Snowman. I used vintage book paper (in German) for the hat and an old Jello mold for the bottom.

These are some of the other Christmas ornaments I made. There are some hand-painted snowmen and gingerbread men in the back, bottle brush trees on vintage bottles and snowmen heads.

Along with my jewelry, I will have all of these Christmas items at the 2nd Annual Ladies Night this Friday!

Hope to see you there!

Where I Will Be on Friday the 13th?

Hello, yes it has been awhile, but I am here today, with some news.

I want to let you know about a craft show where I will be a vendor. It is hosted by the Ballard Spahr law firm in center city Philadelphia. It is on Friday, November 13, 2015. It takes place at the Atrium in the Mellon Center, 1735 Market Street, Philadelphia, from 11:00 am to about 2:00 pm. The Atrium is the level between the building lobby and the concourse (on your way down to the concourse). Spend your lunch hour doing some Christmas shopping! There will be a room full of crafters with lots of ideas for Holiday gifts.

Here are some of the items I will have displayed.

Some colorful necklaces, a few are already taken!

These necklaces were all made out of vintage clip earrings and beads from vintage necklaces. Love vintage clip earrings - so many things to make out of them!

Like some new bracelets! These and the ones below were made with broken watches. I took the watches apart and attached the earrings to make bracelets.

I like how the bracelets will stay put and not swing around your wrist.

These look like vintage printer blocks but.... (hint--if they were the letters would be backward). I do like the inspirational words. My word would be "Altered". I alter and upcycle everything, especially things for jewelry.

These are cuff/bracelets made from escutcheons from bureau handles. I love fancy drawer handles.

I will also have some Christmas ornaments and decor that I don't have pictures of yet. I will also have a selection of jewelry on sale for 25% off regular price. And... if you spend $25.00 or more you will get a free ornament from the bowl!

Hope to see you there!

What are some of your favorite vintage treasures? Leave a comment and let me know!

Last of the Holiday Decorations

The house always looks bare with the Christmas decorations gone. I have a few snowy, wintery themed decorations that I bring out, but I think I need a few more, ha ha. Maybe I can recycle some treasures I already have, in the meantime, enjoy more shots of the decorations that are now packed away.

These are the traditional Christmas red and green colors.

Jingle bells

My mom asked me to make this wreath a couple of years ago for their front door. My parents installed a screen door and now the wreath is too deep for the front door soooo it fit perfectly on my front door! I actually have two front doors, one outside and one in the enclosed porch. That is where this was until I borrowed it for the photos.

A vintage style santa and christmas clown.

The little bear is part of a "memory tin" that I used to make. I would arrange items in a basket, tin or old coffee pot using vintage pieces like doilies, cookie cutters, old silverware, bears, gingerbread men, etc. I sold just about all of them but was able to keep this one for myself.

Winter Preserves, made by my good friend, Joyce. She uses a vintage Ball jar and adds lots of "snow" in the bottom that I like to shake up like a snow globe.

Here is a vintage chocolate mold that I picked up many years ago.

This is a vintage glass bead garland that I got when the April Cornell store in Philadelphia was going out of business. I can't tell you how many times I was in that store for the last clearance sale. I loved that place.

And last is my small tree (one of them, lol), all of the "ornaments" are vintage clip earrings that I collected over the years. I love it so it so much that it stays up all year long.

See you soon!

Not Ready for 2013

Happy New Year! Even though I am not ready for a new year. I am still catching up with last year. But... one of my resolutions is to blog more consistently in 2013.  Ha ha, it's already 6 days in and here is my first post of the new year, oh well, here it is.

I wanted to show you some of my Christmas decorations (it will probably take more than one post.) As you may be able to tell, one of my favorite colors is turquoise -- and it shows.

I don't have a fireplace or mantle, so I used a buffet in my dining room instead. Bertha (my dress form) is wearing some turquoise and pearls with a few rhinestone blings to add sparkle.

The frames stay up all year round and I change the decorations for the holiday. I purchased the fancy white carved wood frame a few years ago at the World's Longest Yardsale on Route 127. It was a great bargain and I would love to go back again.

I used vintage style balls on the tree and vintage jewelry on Bertha.

I used a vintage rhinestone pin as the tree topper.

The trees to the right were an after holiday clearance purchase. In a couple of years they will be bald because they lose a bunch of sparkles every time I bring them out.

Another pic of the sparkle trees.

I love bottle brush trees and villages.

A closer look at the silver glitter churches.

Out for a Winter Frolic!

Here is a big splash of bling. I raided my stash of rhinestone pins and earrings and used them to make these trees. A how-to post will come later.

Hope you enjoyed!
